L’Italia del fioretto maschile è tornata d’oro. Gli azzurri hanno esordito nel modo migliore ai campionati del mondo di scherma a squadre in corso a Pechino: Andrea Baldini, Salvatore Sanzo, Andrea Cassarà e Stefano Barrera hanno infatti conquistato la medaglia d’oro superando in finale con il punteggio di 45-35 la Germania del tre volte campione del mondo Peter Joppich e del bronzo ai recenti Mondiali di San Pietroburgo, Benjamin Kleibrink.
